Hanging Off A Label

In our daily lives we attempted to harness all that is within the lasso of words.  We flatten and compact the shapes and forms of existence into structures so that they may be recognisable both to ourselves and to others.  The wonders of the universe easily explained away in the flat two dimensional world of words.

But this is not the limit of words.  They are more than merely descriptions of life, ensuring that we differentiate between petrol and diesel or the days of the week  They have meaning or rather, we give them meaning  and as such they hold a power.  Words have the power to heal and to inspire they also have the  power to destroy, to hurt and to cage.

The words we use are labels for the reality we find ourselves in.  They are not the matter, the object, or the thing, they are merely the tag that we have pinned to it.  The usefulness of this method of labelling is obvious, but what might be less than obvious is the very action of labelling compresses the thing into a simple two dimensional word.  Psychedelic explorer Terence McKenna speaks about this when he says,

Culture replaces authentic feeling with words. As an example of this, imagine an infant lying in its cradle, and the window is open, and into the room comes something, marvelous, mysterious, glittering, shedding light of many colors, movement, sound, a transformative hierophany of integrated perception and the child is enthralled and then the mother comes into the room and she says to the child, “that’s a bird, baby, that’s a bird,” instantly the complex wave of the angel peacock iridescent trans-formative mystery is collapsed, into the word. All mystery is gone, the child learns this is a bird, this is a bird, and by the time we’re five or six years old all the mystery of reality has been carefully tiled over with words. This is a bird, this is a house, this is the sky, and we seal ourselves in within a linguistic shell of dis-empowered perception. – Terence McKenna

The action of  labelling the fantastic, as we are in the habit of doing so, we can easily get into the habit of labelling ourselves.  Collapsing the mystery of what it is to be us, to be you into a label of convenience both for ourselves and for the benefit of others.  “I am this” or “I am that” can become a boundary, it can become our prison.    When we hear the word depression, we can suddenly become the depression.  Depression is a label that can seek to do far more damage than it can ever do for good, specially if it is blindly attached to.  Oftentimes most cases of depression are in fact a reaction to the reality that is presented to us.  It is our natural state rejecting the indoctrination that we are being exposed to.  It is due to our ability possibly to empathise, that the feelings we perceive to be our own may not be so.  As a result of this rejection of the ‘normal’ we seek aid for a condition that has arisen due to our strength to perceive beyond the veil that is pulled over our eyes.  So what happens?  We are labelled as having depression and are subsequently drugged.  As the pain of birth, as the caterpillar transforms within the cocoon, as it is on the cusp of emergence, when the symptoms are at their peak.  It is then that we receive the doctors labelling and subsequent relief.  The strongest of us are put back to sleep to ensure that they can not fulfill their roles as nature had intended.

To label can be to limit, mind your attachments.

Channel Your Higher Self

When attempting to quiet the usual assistance that is offered to you by your current fear based Ego, the lurker that is all too quick to sabotage your intentions at a moments notice, it is helpful to access your Higher Self.

Finding You.

Everything to do with your higher Self revolves around emotion.  To better feel what’s going on, tune in, you first need to create space within your being.  By this I mean you become aware of yourself as the aperture which enables nature/the universe/everything, to happen.  You are the blank canvas ready to be painted on.  Notice the observer space that you allow.

From here you want to pay attention to your emotions.  If you feel the sharp sting of reduction from within, the feeling that makes you want to jump up to defend it, make it better.  This comes from the Ego and a place of fear.  If instead you are aware of this sensation, you can allow it to move along and bring forward a sense of stillness, humour, expansion, joy, calmness.  Presence.  This is coming from a place of love.  Your Higher Self.  In order to better gauge these feelings you need to give yourself time to process them.  Avoid jumping in to the karma of a situation to get tangled up in.  Allow more space to absorb any tension or energy of this kind.    Often when you are Present and think that you have it sussed, this is when the rope of unconsciousness tugs and you slip away from your space and into that of another’s.   This will now be lower self, or Ego based and Ego’s love other Ego’s to fire each other up and can quickly take over.

Find Balance

When you do act from the Ego/Fear don’t become disheartened.  Recognition of the event, the perceived mistake, is a big teaching in just what it is you are developing.  Be grateful because this is a fast forward boost when learning the art of presence.  The more you work on yourself the better you become.  It will aid you in the times of greatest stress when you need the greatest presence.

Your Soul is immortal.  It is enjoying the experience of the physical realm.  Engage with this notion fully by accepting everything.  Be grateful for everything.  You may not be able to see the bigger picture.

Burn A Trail.

Give your Soul the ride of this life.  When you are flying along in alignment, The Universe will catch you every time you leap.  You are it.  It want’s you to succeed.  The Universe right at the tail of the big bang is this  Human vessel.  Your body is the amazing vehicle designed for one thing – to carry your Soul/You on the journey of your life.  Burn a trail with it.  Squeeze every last drop from each opportunity.  Choose the best pilot and don’t bother to buckle up!

You Are Beautiful

Yes you are

Lightworkers

A Lightworker is a dealer or conduit or conductor or transformer of energy.  A vibration raiser.  A channel through which energy is filtered.  Able to absorb negative or lower frequency energy and raise it up.  Lightworkers have often, but not always, suffered a good deal in the past.  This suffering has given them a good look at negative energy and that has developed within them an understanding of all energy, a way to make it work for them.   Lightworkers tend to have a natural positivity about them.  (They forget this from time to time but generally)  Even when in contact with extremely negative frequencies they can handle this as this energy is directed into positivity through their up-beat attitude.  This can be draining after the event but during the transformation the Lightworker will be energised by flow of the exchange.  Initially this is done naturally or at a sub-conscious level, but as awareness grows and trust of ones own emotions and even a recognition of a Soul purpose develops, a Lightworker becomes a Jedi in the alchemy of energy.  When they are Aware.  Alignment is a mighty ally and often, one you are left looking for on many an occasion.  The Ego is weak and Intuition requires developing.  You enter your minds no-mans land with a fresh breeze, if you are lucky, and little else.

As you raise your own vibrational frequency you naturally raise those around you.  For this reason anyone becoming self-aware or conscious of them Self is by default a Lightworker.  If you are still reading this right now, it suggests that a certain energy frequency resonates with you and that you are now Aware of it.  Even if you don’t necessarily know it or truly believe it yet.  You are a Lightworker. You could have been granted Awareness through pain or suffering when you realised that you didn’t want or need the suffering anymore.   Through exercise or a diet change, from giving a fiver to a friend, or creating something.  There is no one thing  it is all the things that you know deep down are true.  “The sinner could receive Awareness before the saint, but not necessarily.” – Eckhard Tolle

There is a divine strength within everybody.  It is truly beautiful.  It is the radiant glow of the Soul.    All too often this is hidden under the veil of the Ego.  This is not always a show off ego type,  but it is what we Show Off to the world.  When it is who we actually are it is not the mask, in whatever role you are assuming at any given time, but it can only be hidden for so long and once you see it often, especially within yourself, you see it everywhere, in everyone, in everything.  All the time.

You know this is true as it is true of yourself.  That you are not your Ego.    Find a peaceful area.  Relax and look within. Allow yourself to feel breathing.  Take 3 deep breaths in through the nose and out, from the belly.  Relax through any tension that may come with the first breath.  Notice the point at which you breath out but before you breath back in.  In that space you will find a stillness.  From here pay attention to your body, feel it from within.  From your heart move out to your extremities.  Don’t forget to breath again.  Notice how alive your body feels.  This is not the a needy Ego looking for a fix from the outside world. It is the stillness and peace that reside within you.  The outside world exists still but when you realise what it is you hold within you, you unburden any-thing that happens externally from being good or bad.  It simply what is.  What you choose to label it as, should you choose to label it at all, is your choice.  You are the space that allows everything to exist through you.

You are beautiful.  You are an amazing one of a kind jewel.  A vehicle so rare it was built for this exact need only.  To be you!   You are a child of light.  A fully blown fragment of creation incarnate in the human form.  17 billion years of evolution in the making.

You are the hole in the flute through which creation blows.  What music will you produce?

The Abraham-Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale

loa-emotional-scale_opti.jpg

The  Abraham-Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale

By getting ourselves into low negative frequency patterns of behaviour, we create illness and disharmony both within ourselves and we will also experience this in the outside world around us.

Catch yourself on when these feeling arise and be aware of them.  Use this information to end the downward spiral and look to set it spinning back up.

Aim to maintain a high positive frequency  spiral so that when the demons come calling they will be weaker and have less of an impact on your overall average.

Start now

It sounds easier said than done when you are in the midst of the battle, but you have the answers within yourself, you only need a crack of light in the door of darkness to jam your foot in.   You are more powerful than you realise.  You have all the control.

The frequency we sent into the universe is the frequency we receive back.

Stay Strong

The Spiritual Doldrums

No Wind In The Sails

And so it happens that as the rubber band of ever increasing consciousness stretches, it also has moments of relaxing itself.  This period of relaxation can sometimes feel like a stalling of your spiritual growth.  During this phase of relaxation the Ego can start to stir as the mind looks for ways to rationalise what’s going on.  Old habits can resurface along with aches and pains, and a sense of being out of alignment is probably the best way I can describe the feeling.

Each and every time this happens, you learn something.  A solution will present itself as you poke about finding what’s up with you.  Sometimes this is a sentence in a book which puts to bed a niggle that you have had for a while, or you ‘suffer’ a full-blown spiritual realisation brought forth from studying ancient scripture, or both and vice-versa.   The answer can just as often come from being still.  Resisting nothing and simply being.

It is a time that could be recognised as the starting blocks before the race.  Your energies are being affected and manifesting.  Stay Strong.  The aches and pains are all precursors and as these flare up you come to kind of enjoy the sensation.  You are not suffering with sciatica or inflammation, you are moving energy about yourself subconsciously in preparation for the download. (Don’t avoid a trip to the doctors if you need to.  I only know me)

During The Lull

Meditate – Always first and foremost.  As old habits resurface it is a great time to go over these again.

Relax – This is a good thing that is happening.  You love the challenge.

Enjoy the break –  “You cannot help anyone without helping yourself” is true on many levels.  This time though enjoy the excuse to chill and recharge.

Just as crab sheds it’s shell as it becomes tight and uncomfortable.  So are you shedding your shell.
Remember this will not last.  You are emerging as a representation of the  divine, of all creation.  If this transformation were to happen  instantly your physical and mind would be destroyed.  We all get what get, when we are ready to get it.  There are no bad times.

On Perspective

The same world is perceived differently by a frog and a cat, a cat and a dog, a dog and a human, a child and an adult, a woman and a man. You see something different than I do.

All perspectives are unique.

We do not see things the way they are; we see things the way we are.

Making Some Space For Serenity

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “My son, the battle is between two “wolves” inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

  • Ancient Cherokee Story

Look Within

Density plays a big role.  By carrying about dense, heavy, negative emotions, that you have identified with, or rather your Ego has identified with, you will not have much room to spare for the ever increasing positivity you naturally begin to attract as you journey into awareness. This will give you a tougher time of it, as these densities block and disrupt your being. During awakening these dense emotions can be extreme as they are forced to the surface.

For example, if you hate your job,  really hate and loath it. This feeling will not just affect you whilst at work, it will occupy you during your commute, the evening before, during a holiday and all those little things that will remind you of it.  This fills you up with negativity.  You start unconsciously becoming addicted to the chemicals your body produces under these conditions and you will seek to manifest more.  Work is an adult example and an obvious one, but negativity within our being has often times been carried around since childhood and it manifests itself in innumerous ways.  We identify with it as “That’s just the way I am.” Or worse, we don’t even recognise it.

Recognising these feelings when they arise is a big help.  You can then spot triggers or trailheads when they arise.   These trailheads can be following back to their source by looking within, finding out what these feeling mean and why they occur.  This isn’t always easy, as you may not have any memory of the initial occurrences.

Manifest Space

Make some space for all the great and the good coming your way.  Go looking for that space everywhere and in everything.  Notice the gaps in the branches of a tree rather than the branches themselves.  Then the gaps in-between the leaves.  Listen for the gaps between words and sounds.   Be aware inside, of your own internal space.  Feel that space as you breath in and let it grow.  Make space everywhere.  Seek out stillness and vast spaces.  It also helps to stretch yourself out bodily, also with your senses, Listen as much as you can, really try to listen to everything, find the gaps in the noise and reach out aurally as far as you can.  Do this with all your senses, really look, really smell and taste and feel.  Get the absolute maximum bang for your buck out of everything you have.

Physical Fluctuations

You will feel this removal of density physically.  It can happen that from time to time you feel an incredible heaviness and fatigue.  The heaviness in the legs, centering around the thighs and have an incredible urge to collapse and sleep.  This is the body working through density at a lower vibration.  I worried what might be wrong with me when this started happening.  Although I have always enjoyed sleep, this was very different, I was almost unable to function.  Fortunately the sensation passes fairly quickly these days, lasting only a day or two, but initially it lasted for a few weeks.  Going with it helps, so I try to catch forty winks if possible.  I have even had to find a layby for ten minutes shut eye after being awake for barely an hour, following a twelve hour sleep the night before.  During awakening your body is physically changing for the better.  You begin looking like the physical representation of your spiritual Self.  This  won’t always be painless.

Raise Your Frequency

Raise your vibrational state at any chance you get.  The way you think, eat, play, work.  The way you approach life.  Raise it all the way up!  That’s not to say that you shouldn’t enjoy some of this physical realms more dense or lower vibrating indulgences, like drinking alcohol or eating red meat.  Just be aware of it.  If  you only change one thing, something simple like not getting angry during rush hour, your average vibrational frequency will increase overall.  You will get addicted to it, because you feel better.

Live In The Moment

Presence is the single most important thing you can do for yourself.  The future will never be as good as the present moment is right now!  I won’t leap into another few pages regarding the present moment in order to underline its importance for this article.  Suffice it to say that by living in the present and the better you get at living in the present, by leaning to absorb more and more of it, your newly acquired space will be filled with positivity.  This higher vibrational state of being will blast apart the density residing within.  You will be filled with positivity and peace.  You will stretch and expand.  You will have to.  The more you become aware, the more you are conscious, the more filled with life you will become and your cup will runneth over.

You will shine like the fragment of the Tao that you are.

The Ego Has Awakened

2016-02-9--15-54-06.jpeg

I am more aware of myself now than I have been previously.  I will be more aware of myself in time to come.

Spiritual awakening – is becoming awake to the aliveness of this moment.  Eckhart Tolle

This moment doesn’t stop.  Your first moment of awakening is just that, you have become awake and with it aware.  There is no going back to un-aware.  You cannot un-see this. But, an easy distraction to get caught in without realising it is attaching your awakening to your ego.   Attachment is a mind game so don’t attach your continued awakening, or greater awareness, to anything.

By attaching this feeling of universal clarity and peace, of serenity, to a man made form in your head is setting yourself up for failure as you naturally become more aware more of the time.

You come to realise that within these moments of peace and awareness you will notice what you like doing because you will notice when you are pulled out of peace. This will help define your life purpose.  If instead you attach this to your ego, an idea or thought, you will very quickly evolve beyond it and be forced to redefine yourself again. This in itself is a natural progression and evolution however, with attachment, you will be tied into the physical world of the ego, this will inhibit your growth and slow you down.

When you allow yourself to flower at your own pace and not the one set by the material, physical world of ego,  you set yourself free of it. You are able to create or become more aware of space and within this space you will find peace.

The Dark Night Of The Soul

The Hero You Need

The dark night of the soul refers to a period of an individuals spiritual journey that is said to be less than enjoyable, to say the least.  It usually occurs following a period of spiritual growth.  As you discover certain truths there is a death or dying of sorts of your previously held beliefs which have helped to create your ego.

It has been my experience that almost immediately following a time of growth, the mind turns in on itself and throws a blanket over the ego which is definitely troubled by these new concepts that are forcing  it to the surface or more realistically, separating it from the self.  The ego doesn’t like this and as a result you can become withdrawn, moody, irritable, depressed and generally feel grey.

Worse is that you still have the knowledge gained from the period of growth which all pointed to happiness, love and compassion.  Now as you wallow in this dark night it seems that all this knowledge has up and left.  Remember that this is the ego attempting to comfort itself.  You have chased it out of one room and it’s now hiding in the next.  The ego needs to feel that it is vital to your existence and it will try anything to keep you believing that.

Early in your spiritual awakening you will have left behind concrete ideas in place of concepts.  These concepts are initially far from concrete, so you are left in a state of limbo.  I prefer to recognise this period as more of a cocoon period.  Each time the dark night of the soul visits, try to recognise that it is just another period of growth in itself.  You will emerge from it and you will have been transformed by it.

Resist Resisting

It isn’t easy.  It can feel so frustrating.  You are not alone.  Allow it to happen, don’t resist.  Use this time to put what you have learned to the test.  Practise calm and patience.  Work on your meditation.  Ask for help too.  Say out loud what you would like help with.  It is sometimes surprising to find that the universe does hear you.  Sometimes you will have your answer immediately, it can happen.

Who’s Driving?

ME…and that’s final?

There are no hard and fast rules governing the journey you take during this life.  There are no hard and fast rules to dictate what will make you happy or sad.  Everything is in motion.  We float about in a sea of existence, pulled here and there by forces known and unknown.  What may please us today has the same chance of angering us tomorrow.  With each new piece of information, with each experience, we are changed.

Let’s say you were to climb a mountain and upon reaching that summit you gaze out and soak up the view, the sense of achievement washes over you.  You feel happy and fulfilled.  Now, if you were to stay on that summit, those feelings would soon wane, they might give way to cold, hunger, fatigue, the desire for a warm bed.  These feelings push you along to other things, namely walking back down the mountain for a start.  You reach base camp buzzing and happy to be back safe and sound.  You warm yourself and relax in the shear bliss of sharing a hot cup of coffee and a regale your tale before the luxury of getting into that warm bed.  Our peak happiness is in constant motion and can sometimes seem very elusive.  For that reason, we can start putting requirements on our own happiness, such as climbing a mountain, buying a car, falling in love, taking a holiday.  You name it.  People will look for happiness in every conceivable way possible in order to remove themselves from what they perceive mundane.

Not Mighty

Who or what creates the mundane?  The quick and simple answer is you do.  You create what it is that your mind perceives to be mundane.  You choose what it is that you think will make you happy.  What is often not realised is that the ‘You’ in this instance is actually not actually YOU it is your ego.  The Ego is an often fretful character and it is quick to feel sorry for itself, insecure and vulnerable.  It tricks you into thinking that it is you in order to get what it thinks it wants.  Realise this and begin to take control.  Your ego is a tool you can use once you realise that  for what it is.  It isn’t you but merely a mask you show to the world.  When you need it, it can be braver than you think you can be, stronger, happier, understanding, compassionate, helpful, optimistic.  It can be as close to the real you as you allow it to be.

The Split

It is not until you really realise that it is not you, that you will understand the effect and control it can have.  Your ego has been created over many years but the world around you.  You may think that things like advertising or social norms or requirements have no effect on you.  You may think that seeing the media’s portrayal of how you should look and what is beautiful, has no effect on you.  This is because is doesn’t effect you, it isn’t taking to you.  It is talking to and effecting your ego.

This is the root cause of most of the western worlds unhappiness your ego is feeling insecure or sorry for itself.  The ego is so strongly effected by these stimulations you need only to look around and see how people use the latest trends and materialism as a comfort blanket to wrap themselves in.  The same goes for the trends on social media and the upspring of the selfie generation  This is the ego being conditioned to recognise what it thinks happiness is and it is pulling people further and further away from what their heart is telling them, who they really are.

Friends?

There is nothing wrong with enjoying yourself with finery or mountain climbing or whatever it is that you wish to indulge yourself in.  As long as you recognise the separation between your self and your ego, you will be better equipped to make decisions in the future.

I said there are no hard and fast rules governing the journey you take during this life, but if I had to pick a starting point and point myself in a direction it would be simply to smile.  It is a base for you to establish.  A smile is the single most powerful way to communicate ourselves to the whole world.   A smile doesn’t necessarily mean that you are happy.  It can mean that you are strong.  It can mean that you understand.  It can show you care, that you can help, that you are approachable.

Smile

You smile because all of life is for you.  Smile because it makes you feel better, smile because it makes others feel better.  Smile because you are on the greatest ride.  Smile because nothing in this universe is mundane.   Smile because you are happy   🙂
